The American Dietetic Association (ADA) recommends a minimum of 20-35 g/day for a healthy adult depending on calorie intake (e.g., a 2000 cal/8400 kj diet should include 25 g of fiber per day).

Soluble fiber is found in many foods, including:

What you should do is start the day with a high in fiber cereal...it's an easy way to get most of what you need out of the way pretty painlessly as cereal is not so difficult to eat.

Bran Flakes is a good one, also it's not good to just add a ton of fiber to your diet all at once...the reason fiber is so important is the influence it has during entire digestive process....

One of the main things you may notice if you're lacking fiber is the importance to the body's absorption-so that glucose (sugar) in food enters the bloodstream more slowly, which keeps blood sugar on a more even level, if you have a lot those 'I need chocolate' after exercising, then you're probably really lacking Fiber and Iron for that matter.

Try and work your way up to around 25-30 grams a day.

Not necessarily the case, although it certainly helps. Some people develop them for reasons unknown.

If you have to take a supplement, I would highly recommend Fiber Choice. Tablet form that are fruit flavored and give a rather high dose of useable fiber. 2g per serving.

Cracklin' Oat Bran cereal with vanilla soy milk. Tastes good and is good in fiber.

It will keep you regular.
